What’s the deal with Prolen® yarn?
We wanted our trail socks to be superior quality so we chose Prolen® yarn to make them. The lightest fibre available for sock manufacturing, its density is 50% lower than cotton and has superior properties in relation to temperature control, comfort and durability compared to wool and polyester.
What actually makes Harrier socks anti-blister?
Our socks are purposefully dual layer. This double layer of material means when your foot moves in your shoe when running, the fabric against your skin moves significantly less. This dramatically reduces rubbing, blisters and sores which happens with single layer socks.
Blisters and sores are very common in ultra running, we’ve all seen those horrible post race foot photos on social media! So it’s essential to treat your feet to socks which will prevent this from happening so it’s not your feet that let you down on a key training or race day.
How long will my trail socks last?
Prolen® yarn has revolutionary durability properties. It holds out against abrasion, tension and tearing. Abrasion resistance in our socks is 2.5 greater than cotton or wool. Perfect for all those sweaty and muddy long runs!
Thanks to the fact this yarn is dope-died, they maintain colour freshness and performance through the toughest training and weather conditions.
How good are they in hot and cold weather?
Maintaining an ideal temperature is key to foot comfort especially for long runs in the hills. Socks made from Prolen® yarn have the properties to maintain ideal temperatures against the skin.
In the cold winter months, Prolen® yarn has the lowest conductivity of any sock material which creates optimal insulating power.
In warmer weather, our socks do not absorb moisture from sweating. Moisture leaves the sock layer without saturation, meaning you stay drier faster and significantly longer compared to wool, cotton and polyester.
How do I wash my trail running socks?
Our socks will not shrink or fade in the wash and can be washed at 40 degrees on a normal cycle and hang dry. Please wash dark colours separately.
Do not bleach, do not iron, do not dry clean, do not tumble dry.

"The new Harrier socks are at a great price point and feature a double layer to protect your feet against blisters. They're a thicker, warmer-feeling sock rather than a slimmer one, which I like for the increased cushioning they provide on trail and ultra runs. The Harrier trail socks are my foot-based weapon of choice"
