2023: A Fantastic Year In Review

Harrier really stepped up a gear in 2023 and our presence in the running industry has definitely been elevated the past year.
We've only just finished our third year trading and it has been good to take a step back to think about all the great stuff that we have achieved, to put a few things into perspective.

Here are just a few 2023 milestones, thanks to all the hard work of the Harrier team:
  • We reached 50,000 order shipped
  • Totalled over 12,000 5-star company and product reviews across Reviews.io and Trustpilot (with 99% of our customers recommending us!) and an incredible 4.95 / 5 Net Promoter Score
  • Partnered with our first trail events, the prestigious Threshold Trail Series and Pegasus Ultras in Wales
  • New products have been designed and developed with premium technologies including 3M Thinsulate for our insulated jackets and Prolen in our socks, due to be launched in spring 2024
  • Women's Running awarded us Reader's Choice and Best Value awards for our Exmoor Jacket, Kinder 10L Race Vest and Helvellyn PRO Poles
  • WINNER of Retailer of the Year at the National Running Show Awards as well as elevating our presence at the shows as hosts of the Trail Zone
  • Partnerships with the John Muir Foundation, Peak District Foundation and we donated over £8,000 to wildlife charities
  • Continued to build our brilliant team to seven with Sarah, our Community & Events Manager starting this January.

What always keeps me going is this quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson,

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."

There have been plenty of blunders and absurdities happening on a daily basis but the key to progress has remained the same as when I first started the business - getting the figures right (most of the time) and building good relationships.
All of the things above are amazing and it does make me so happy to see the business doing well, but for me the biggest achievement this year has been to remain part time and enjoy time with my 2 year old son, Alex.

We have big plans for 2024, I remain confident in my belief that trail runners don't have to forfeit quality for a decent price for their kit and that trail running is for every body. As we develop more products, partnerships and initiatives this year, we will continue to strengthen the Harrier brand to be comparable in the trail running industry with leading multi-nationals.

Thank you so much for your support, good will and humour over the past few years it really has been a pleasure to have such amazing customers and followers who feel more like friends.
