How much does it weigh?
From just 275g the Exmoor is designed to be a great value all-rounder and provide you with protection and comfort in poor weather conditions. We hope this jacket will be a favourite piece of kit, designed to be worn from the door on long runs, and to keep you dry and comfortable when you need it most.
What is it made from?
Soft 4-way-stretch fabric, 100% polyester, PU PFC-free membrane.
How waterproof and breathable is it?
The Exmoor has a 15,000mm hydrostatic head rating (waterproof) and a 15,000 MVP rating (breathability).
Your jacket is treated with a durable water repellent (DWR) layer that causes water to 'bead' on the surface rather than soaking in. DWR treatments slowly wear out over time which can cause it to start absorbing water and lose breathability.
Need a higher spec? Check out our Exmoor PRO with a waterproof rating of 20,000 HH and breathability rating of 50,000 MVP.

How do I wash it?
Please follow the washing recommendations below.
Preparation: Close all zips/Velcro, empty pockets, and pre-treat stains if needed. Run an empty wash first to clear residue.
Washing: Machine wash on a gentle/delicate cycle (30°C) with a specialist waterproof detergent like Grangers Performance Wash. Do not use normal detergent, fabric softener, or bleach.
Drying: Tumble dry on low heat or line dry. Low heat tumble drying can help reactivate the DWR coating. Avoid high heat.
Reproofing: Over time, reproof with a product like Grangers Repel to restore water beading. Or use Granger 2 in 1 which both cleans and reproofs your jacket!
How often: Wash only when needed, if dirty, smelly, or when water stops beading on the surface. Frequent washing shortens the life of the DWR coating.
How long will the DWR coating last?
The PFC-free DWR treatment provides long-lasting water repellency, but it will wear over time. Follow the washing instructions and reproof as needed to maintain optimal performance.
What size should I choose?
The Exmoor PRO is designed with enough stretch for layering over a baselayer or light mid-layer. Choose your regular running jacket size. Size up if you prefer a looser fit or want to wear multiple layers underneath.
Is the Exmoor suitable for ultra-distance races?
Yes. The Exmoor is a race mandatory waterproof jacket for many ultra-distance events, designed to meet kit check standards while remaining lightweight and packable for long runs. Its breathable 15,000 MVP membrane keeps sweat under control during high-intensity racing.
Please check the mandatory race requirements for your specific race. Need a higher spec? Check out our Exmoor PRO with a waterproof rating of 20,000 HH and breathability rating of 50,000 MVP.
Can I layer it over a baselayer or mid-layer?
Absolutely. The Exmoor is cut for freedom of movement and enough stretch to fit over your favourite trail running baselayer or lightweight mid-layer, making it ideal for all-season trail running.
How packable is it for carrying in a running vest?
The jacket folds neatly into its own pocket making it a fully packable waterproof jacket that easily fits in a running vest, waist pack, or backpack for training or race day.
The WrapSnap stow system also allows it to be worn around the waist like a bumbag, ideal for changeable weather when you don't want to pack it away but need quick access in showers.
Does it have storage pockets?
Yes — hand pockets to allow you to carry gloves, hats, gels, or small essentials while running. You can also pack the jacket away into one of these hand pockets into a nifty pouch.
Does it have ventilation features for regulating heat?
Yes. The Exmoor includes a ventilation popper that lets you control airflow during climbs or high-intensity running, helping you stay comfortable without removing layers. Combined with a 2.5L PU membrane, you'll stay comfortable on long runs.
What weather conditions is it suitable for?
With a 15,000mm hydrostatic head rating and DWR coating it’s ideal for moderate rain, average snow and light pressure, making it a versatile lightweight waterproof jacket. If you'd like greater protection, check out our Exmoor PRO jacket which is 20,000 HH rating for heavier rain.
Does it have features to keep my pack stable?
Yes. The jacket has anti-slip shoulders and an adjustable hood to keep your vest or pack in place during long runs or technical trails.
Is the jacket PFC Free?
The Exmoor is made from soft stretch polyester and uses a PFC-free DWR coating, making it a sustainable choice for eco-conscious runners who want a high-performance trail running waterproof jacket.
Can I adjust the hood and cuffs?
The adjustable hood and thumb loops provide extra coverage and comfort in harsh weather, while anti-slip shoulders help keep the jacket in place during long runs.
Is it suitable for men and women?
Yes, the Exmoor PRO comes in men’s and women’s specific fits - not unisex! Designed for trail and ultra runners with enough room for layering over baselayers or light mid-layers.
How should I store it when not in use?
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid compressing the jacket for long periods, as this can affect the DWR performance.
Can it be used for other outdoor sports?
While optimised for trail and ultra running, the jacket also works for hiking, fastpacking, and general outdoor activity thanks to its lightweight, breathable, and packable design.
