Harrier Celebrated in Runner’s World
When we set out to build Harrier, the mission was simple: create outstanding trail running kit built on thoughtful design, real-world testing and proper value. No shortcuts, no gimmicks, just gear that works hard on the hills and earns its place in your pack.
So, it is a real honour to share that Runner’s World has recognised Harrier across multiple categories in its 2025 gear guides, awarding our products Best Value positions in waterproof jackets, running poles and trail socks.
Designed in the Peak District and tested on everything from British downpours to multi-day ultras abroad, our kit did exactly what trail runners asked of it. Here is what the experts had to say.
Exmoor Waterproof Jacket – Best Value Waterproof Jacket
Runner’s World praised the Exmoor for its blend of protection, comfort and smart trail-led features. Built with soft four way stretch fabric for natural movement, the jacket’s offset zip was a stand-out detail, offering weather protection without choking your neckline mid-climb.
Our fully taped seams and 15,000mm waterproof rating delivered dependable defence in driving rain, while underarm vents helped keep things breathable during long, steep efforts. The testers also noted that the Exmoor balances performance with practicality. It packs into its own back pocket and, importantly, comes in under £100, making it an accessible choice for both ultra runners and everyday adventurers.
Their verdict: high performing, great value and ideal for mandatory race kit lists.
Helvellyn PRO Carbon Z-Poles V2 – Best Value Running Poles
Our Helvellyn PRO poles were celebrated for delivering the stability and low weight that trail runners usually only find in premium priced poles. At around 138g per pole, they offer the reassurance needed on technical inclines while staying light enough to carry or stow without fuss.
Runner’s World testers used them everywhere from steep UK trails to a five day ultramarathon in Tanzania. Their feedback highlighted the poles’ strength, ease of deployment and long-run comfort, with our ergonomic handles and fleece lined straps getting special mentions.
The summary was simple: excellent value, easy to use and reliable over long distances, putting them in the top tier of poles without the top tier price.
Double Layer Running Socks – Best Value Running Socks
Runner’s World named our Double Layer Socks Best Value, recognising their durability, comfort and performance in wet and challenging conditions.
Made using Prolen yarn, these socks manage moisture, temperature and abrasion exceptionally well. The double layer construction adds cushioning and blister protection without feeling heavy, and testers noted how quickly they dried after rain soaked runs.
For £19.99 for a two pack, the editors considered them outstanding value for trail runners who want comfort and longevity without overspending.
Why This Recognition Matters
We design every piece of Harrier kit with one question in mind. Does this make your time on the trail better. More comfortable. More capable. More joyful. The feedback from Runner’s World underscores what our community of runners tells us: performance does not have to come with a premium price tag.
From your local woodland miles to the world’s biggest ultras, we are proud to build gear that stands up to the conditions, holds up under pressure and earns its reputation through real use, not marketing gloss.
